Payout Dispute- PLEASE HELP!

My car was a non-fault write off and my insurers have valued it at only £760 only the engineer never called me to notify me of the amount or give me an opportunity to dispute the value. I simply got a letter in the post. Surely this is wrong?

I was looking to sell the car before the incident and have printed ads for the same make, model, reg and milage for £1,000- £1,200. I'm at a loss and want to get the correct amount, especially seeing I'm the victim of the incident.

I have complained to my insurers about their guy missing out this vital step in closing this dispute- where do I stand in terms of getting the correct value from them?

PLEASE HELP!

Dont accept the cheque nor cash it......

You need to prove that you xcannot buy like for like based on there valuation...

Go and get yourself a Autotrader magazine tomorrow and look at the private ads then compare and forward on substantiation.

I will value via glass@s guide for you..

need - make, model, year, reg prefix, mileage, 3 or 5 door. any service history. how long u had it?

You also need to give Foxyuk the date of accident. Payout is value at time of accident, not today's value.
  • I was advised by a solicitor friend to cash the cheque as an interim payment but to chase them for the outstanding value...

Fiat Cinquecento SX Solei (panel sunroof) 98 R reg with 3 door, approx 48,000 miles on clock, some old service history, I was the seccond owner and has it for around 4 years. It was mechanically sound and only had a few superficial cosmetic blemishes for me to sort before I put it on the market.

I spoke to the insurance caompany and they agreed to have the original engineer contact me about the valuation- I'm still waiting. :o(

based on the info and a bit of research.... i would imagine at a push you will get £900......

because it is an older vehicle the engineer has offered bottom value

as it is a scarce model the engineer should consider this

remember you have an excess is that figure quoted before or after deduction of excess ?

remember if non fault you will get this back
