Noddle rating changed

Options
I have used noddle for a few years and they have always shown my credit rating as 5/5 but I checked recently and it has dropped to 4/5. I don't understand this at all as I haven't applied for any new credit or got quotes for anything. Also, I've never missed a payment in my life. I use my credit card for most things and it is paid off in full every month. I'm on the electoral roll, have a landline etc. I contacted noddle but their response was that it's just a guide and many things can affect it, including the way their own system judges credit ratings. Could anyone help me understand why this has happened?

Noddle has no right in giving you a credit score as they don't exist.

As they've said its a guide which In term doesn't mean a god damn thing whether you've 1/5 or 5/5 as they're meaningless numbers.

It's September, the credit scores always go down by 1 when the summer finishes. Don't worry, it will go back up in the summer. Just delay applying for any credit until about May and you'll be fine.

(as you-kip says it's a meaningless random number that no one apart from you gets to see - don't get so hung up on it).

    I like this!

Although I've heard that Noddle change the 'credit score' you get if the operative's football team has either won or lost at the weekend and they are in a good or bad mood. They then set a note to look at it again when their team plays next in 3 months time - fact!

Others are evidently overplaying it but ultimately the main point is true, this number is seen by almost no one else (I say almost as some insurers do use the default scores) as almost all other companies have their own priorities and preferences so apply their own algorithm to your history and come up with their own "score".

The change could be something in your data or it could be a change in the algorithm that Noddle use. Either way it really hardly matters and what you really need to use this data for is purely to check the history is correct not what the random number generator has assigned to it.
