Headphone Compatability

Can headphones and TV's have a compatibility problem? I have a Logik TV/DVD combo. I connected a set of wireless headphones to it, in the earphone socket. I kept having to press 'scan' on the headphones before I could hear anything. After getting sound for about 10-15mins, the sound just goes. There is an LED on the headphone transmitter, which is green when the headphones are charging, and red when the headphones are in use. I noticed that there is no green light when the sound goes. You would think that the headphones are faulty, except when I try them on my pc or media player, they work fine. Back to the tv. When I use ordinary earphones/headphones, there is no problem (apart from having a trailing cable from the tv). The headphones by the way, were bought from Aldi, and I've had a similar pair for years, and they don't work with the tv either. This has got me stumped. Is there a solution?

Where does the headphone transmitter get its power from?

What way are they "wireless" - are they bluetooth, infra-red, or what?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

  • I'm assuming they're infrared, certainly not blue tooth. The base unit is plugged into the mains, and shows a green light when the headphones are on charge, so it must be working. When plugged into my media player, I can go down to the bottom of the garden, and still get a signal. It's just plugged into the tv I have problems.

If it works to the bottom of the garden, then it's probably not infra-red.

A possibility would be interference from the DVD player.
Can you move the transmitter somewhere further from the TV?

  • Moved it away from the dvd player end of the tv, and still not working properly.
