CP Plus Parking Fine

Received a letter from CP Plus today. It appears to be a follow up letter. It states a notice was sent but wasn't responded to (I didn't receive one) and now the full amount is payable (£90). Due to over staying free parking time at Clacket Lane Services.
Letter contains time stamped photographs of entry and exit.
Worst case I will contact and just pay the lower half rate fine. But I after a search I found many people advising to just ignore the notice.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Neither is right. Ignore was the old advice but some PPCs have become litigious.
Current advice is to appeal to CP Plus and to complain to the Services manager/CEO:

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do that letter to the Manager or whoever. At the same time: and unless it is a lease/hire car the general advice now is first of all:
1. Do not admit who was driving.
2. Make a "soft appeal" to the private parking company. Make it plain that you are appealing; use the third person ("the driver" rather than "I") ; make it abundantly clear that you are wanting a POPLA code.
3. When you have that code make a "hard appeal" to POPLA
For an explanation of these terms a)google them; b) take a good look around the forum especially at the first two stickies.
"Ignore" is no longer regarded as a sensible strategy.
