G24 Contractual Parking Charge Notice

Got the first one of these today and was wondering if someone could see me right!
Parked at Ings Road, Wakefield which is for Cineworld, Nandos, Frankie & Bennies and Pizza Hut
I visited Cineworld then Pizza Hut on Sep 14th spending 3 hours 31 minutes in the car park which apparently has a 3 hour limit.
Car is registered to my wife, she is the one who has received the letter, however I was driving (she was 200 miles away at the time)
I'm not sure if I should (a) ignore it completely (b) appeal or (c) Take it up with Cineworld & Pizza Hut
There's lot's of advice on here, but some conflicting and some quite old and I'm not sure where to start.
Any help is appreciated.

First of all - do NOT admit to being the driver - nor name your wife as the driver.
Secondly wait for a letter called Notice to Keeper which should arrive between 28 days and 56 days after the event.
Appeal this by making a "soft appeal", make it clear it is an appeal and ask them to either cancel the charge (unlikely) or to give you a POPLA Code.
Then make a 'hard appeal".
For an explanation of these terms have a good read around the forum over the next 28 days or so. Pay attention to the stickies at the top of the forum especially the first two.
Come back to us when the Notice to Keeper arrives and you have drafted that first simple appeal so we can check it.0 -
You need to start with the most recent of threads. Ignore anything that says 'ignore'.
For the present, your wife needs to handle this as the Registered Keeper as PPCs have to jump through more hoops on this basis. You can be named much further down the track, if necessary, as 'the driver' - but no need to go into this at this stage.
Here is a thumbnail outline of the process that I wrote for another poster. Much of it will apply to your case (especially the bit about chasing up the retailers/landowner). Read through it and start working on the early points in the process, come back if you have any queries on it.
G24 are regarded as pretty 'tame', but like any wild animal, you can never take anything for granted.

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Do (c) as soon as you like and very assertively; insist that it's cancelled, rattle some cages this weekend!
And have (b) up your sleeve ready to appeal within 28 days of the letter. I take it G24 have sent you a letter headed up 'Notice to Keeper'? Or is it headed up with something else?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's titled "CONTRACTUAL PARKING CHARGE NOTICE" but mentions the phrase registered keeper in the first sentence of the letter. I can scan tonight.0
