Had a verbal warning at work and been offered a new job will they find out?

I work for a company and got a verbal warning last week, I am fed up with working there so I applied for a new job and have been offered one, in a different company. When they do references will they see I've got a verbal warning and maybe cancel my offer?

its unlikely but if they put it its truthful and the other employer could take the offer back.

You have misinterpreted the link - employers can give a bad reference as long as it is accurate.0 -
I can't be the only one who has then given I work in Payroll under the HR umbrella and see a lot of references which state job title, employment dates and usually something along the lines of "it is not our company policy to provide character/detailed information".
I work in a company that has offices all over the county.

A verbal warning will be on file. You should have been informed how long it will be on file for at the time it was given.
The warning can be noted in your reference.
"Bad" references most certainly can be given, as long as they are factual.0 -

A verbal warning can be recorded as its an official procedure
Employers can and do bad references as long as its factually true.
Employers can choose not to due to for the hassle factor.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

I take up references all the time as part of my job, it depends on the wording of the reference if it states has the employee had any warnings verbal or written or disclipinary action they are legally entitled to answer yes. I am afraid to say that it is possible the definition of a bad reference does not exist under employment law an employer is allowed to truthfully state facts what he can't do he make assumtions or personal opinions about an employee for instance if you were late 3/5 days he is entitled to say that if he can prove it but he can't just say he was a poor employee
