Problem with iPod Touch go back to Argos?

Hi
We bought 2 iPod Touches in Argos on 12/12/12 for Xmas presents for the kids. Our sons Touch has started to 'white' screen.
My question is, if we can't fix it by restoring via iTunes, then do we go back to Argos and what rights do we have to have to have it fixed? Or do we go back to Apple to sort the problem out?
*We have the receipt for the products.
**Yep, I know the above sounds silly and probably not even grammatically correct but I just didn't know how to word it on here!
Thanks

Here's a quote from MSE's Consumer Rights article:Know who's responsible
When returning items, beware shops trying the oldest trick in the book: saying they're not responsible for the shoddy goods and you must call the manufacturer. This is total nonsense!
If a company fobs you off by saying “go to the maker instead”, it's wrong. It's the retailer's job to sort it.
It doesn't matter if it's an iPod from a high street shop or a designer frock from a department store. If something's broken, torn, ripped or faulty, the seller has a legal duty to put it right as your contract is with them.
Having said that, Apple do have a good reputation, and going direct to them may be quicker and less troublesome.0 -
My son bought an Ipod from Amazon and it stopped charging. He emailed Apple to find out the best and simplest thing to do and they made an appointment for him at the Apple store. When he went in they just swapped it for a brand new one. It didn't matter that he hadn't bought it from them direct. If you don't have an Apple store nearby Argos should deal with it.0
