Dilemma with listing....

OH's nana passed away yesterday after being in hospital for a few weeks. Just before she was admitted she had moved into a sheltered bungalow and bought a brand new 3 piece suite. Mum in Law also purchased a wheelchair for her that was never used.
Mum in law has just called in on her way down to the bungalow, she is obviously upset and trying to keep herself occupied by sorting out Nana's few possessions, plus as its a council bungalow they need her things out sooner rather than later.
MIL has asked me to sell the suite and chair on ebay and give the great grandkids the proceeds, but what on earth do i say in the listings??
I dont really want to say that she has died, but surely that will come out when the buyer collects the items from the bungalow.
How do I word it????

I don't think the circumstances of the sale are anyone's business.
TBH I don't find ebay very good for selling furniture locally, but you may have some luck. Personally I'd try local free ads.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thing is MIL needs things gone fairly quickly, and it will be a week or so before anything goes into our local free ads.
I dont think MIL cares how little they sell for, she just doesnt really want house clearances making money from it.0 -
Try it on a 3 day listing starting from this evening - Cheap Listing Day today, and it will finish on Sunday which is peak viewing time on eBay
Also, a 3 day listing will bring it above the majority of items that are listed today.
It's also worth considering your starting price - I've seen sofa's sell for 99p because only one local buyer has placed a bid! As above, the terms of sale are nobody's business, but a simple "Sale due to change of personal circumstances" is an adequate explanation if anybody really needs to know.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I'd be inclined to agree with Fay that it's nobody's business, but if you're pressed for a reason, you could just say that the owner has "gone away".
When we moved into our house, the previous owner left three grim leather sofas, so we Ebayed them with the description "Given them by a friend who's gone away for a bit and they're not our taste". We got three bids and the winners fetched them the night that the auction closed.© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -
Why not approach a couple of second hand dealers in your area most do house clearances.0

I would put them online today on https://www.adtrader.co.uk ( which is the website for the yellow Freeads paper) so people who are looking over the weekend will see it as it will be live online by tomorrow morning. It will then come out in next Wednesdays paper as well.
Also put it on ebay as the poster above suggests but put a statement on it saying it's for sale elsewhere. You're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -

Hello pulliptears, really sorry about your nanna in law :grouphug:
I've used these 3 before to sell stuff, think 2 of them take a few hours or the next day if its put on late to check it before their put on the website and i think the preloved or freeads go on near enough straight away, cant remember which though sorry.I'd put all the stuff on all the sites that you can, and hopefully someone will get in touch soon.

OR you could try advertising it on https://www.adtrader.co.uk I buy that paper every wedensday and Saturday. But it is free for you to list on the net and paper but goes in quicker on the web. p.s I think you pay money if you want a bold ad but normal ads is totally free.Need to get rid of my Yankee Candle Habit, Not very money saving of me0
