  • If they are expecting a recorded delivery letter and possible they may refuse it send a small box instead.

What was the reason for the refund?

Does your documentation state the contract is between you and the travel agent? Usually when booking with a travel agent your contract is with the service provider, not the travel agent.

For the same reason, a chargeback or section 75 claim may not be successful - as payment was made to a third party.

I got sent some court documents the other day (for a divorce proceeding that I was witnessing for).

I got one copy recorded and one copy via 1st class post.

Bother delivered by the same postman. I couldn't understand why at the time but have since realised this was done as two attempts to deliver are far more likely to succeed than one, especially if one is recorded.

I would think its more likely if you arent home you get the copy anyway
its common for legal docs to be done this way
In Scotland they send out citations via Signed for,if nobodys home then they send a 1st class letter out on the Signed for letters return

Yes it's probably okay, considering all your attempts to get a refund. Even without following pre-court protocol a judge would probably deem your actions as reasonable.

But a LBA is intended to give them one final nudge and will often work. So worth sending another first class just to see if it can work without the need to go to court.
