Cable TV....picture seems 'slow' ?

I have Virgin Media Cable TV, for my sins, and am finding that the picture does not appear to keep up with the sound?

At first, I thought it was just a lip-sync problem, but looking closer it is more like the TV is just showing 2 pictures out of every 4, as it were, and so somebody speaking just does not look right. If I go back to aeriel TV, it is OK again, though obviously without the quality.

I have tried phoning, but trying to explain this to an Indian who barely seems to understand the word Television.....no chance!

Anyone any ideas please?

Thanks

BiL had this problem he had an engineer sent out there was something wrong with the box outside of his house. Phone back report the fault if you can't explain tell them to put you through to cancellations you not going to pay for a service your not getting. That should do the trick. :)
You can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.

I agree, a quick phone call to them should see an engineer visit fairly promptly.

Out of interest, If you also have Cable Internet from them, put this address in your web browser

    http://192.168.100.1/RgSignal.asp

You should have figures similar to these:
    Frequency 331000000 Hz

Signal To Noise Ratio 33.6 dB

    Power Level 1.2 dBmV
The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading

    Channel ID 1
    Frequency 18800000 Hz
    Power 55.0 dBmV

Any difference, particularly on the Signal to Noise will cause problems.
It is a quick fix but will need the engineer to visit.

Could also be problems with the cable in your house, we had TV problems and they came and recabled from where the cable came into the house to fix it. Do you have broadband and telephone as well? If they are fine, it may suggest it is the cabling to the TV from the splitter.
