Ok I have a tricky one which I'm not sure how to approach.
I purchased an expensive mountain bike less than 6 months ago, by expensive, it was £3000. After only 3 months the paint literally started to fall off.
The company have told me they will replace the frame which is great, the only thing is, they want to replace it with a frame that is a completely different colour to the one I purchased.
I really do not like the colour scheme they have offered, I don't mean to be fussy but as many people will understand when buying a car/motorbike/bike the looks have a huge aspect on what a lot of people purchase.
I also feel that the colour hey want to give me will make a huge difference to the resale value of the bike if I were to ever sell it.
Can I refuse what they are offering me and either claim a different bike from them or my money back or am I stuck with what they are offering?

You can tell them that you are not happy with their offer and ask them for an alternative resolution.
Have you asked why they are offering the different colour? Is it possible that they are not offering the original colour because there is a fault with that paint (hence the flaking) so if they replaced with the same colour you'd have the same issue again in 3 months time?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Basically I purchased a 2012 model which was black and gold, they have no 2012 models left only 2013 ones of exactly the same spec which are Grey and red.
They do have black and gold in 2013 model but it is of a greater spec than my 20120 -
You could offer to pay the extra cost of the black/gold 2013 over the grey/red they are providing as replacement.604!0

Not a bad idea but I don't really have the spare money to do that.0

Or they could give you a refund with a deduction for the 6 months you've already had from the bike.0

That's not such a bad idea, I guess working out what 6 months is worth is a little tricky though.0

My annoyance is the fact the paint work is so shoddy, If you paid £3000 for a car you wouldn't expect the paint to just fall off of it.
After doing some research Ive found a few other people that have had the same issue with the 2012 Model0
