Claiming back PPI from cahoot when loan was taken out online

Hi

I hope someone here can help me out with this PPI claim im trying to get sorted. I have recently contacted Cahoot who confirmed to me that i had PPI on my loan from 2006-2008, the loan was completed online and i have no recollection of ever agreeing or seeing anything to do with PPI.

I have printed the consumer questionnaire from this website to send to Cahoot but I would really like some advice on how to word what it is i am trying to do when you can add your own comments on the questionnaire

Do I basically say what I have said above that I took out this loan online and do not remember seeing anything to do with PPI? I have been reading that some online applications from lenders would have the PPI already ticked and then would ask you to call a number if you tried to un tick it, again i do not remember this happening but just unsure of what i should be saying and will my claim be valid as it was an online application?

Any help would be very much appreciated

Never make things up. So many complaint outcomes are made on the balance of probability and that goes with the most credible side. If you are caught telling lies then you lose your credibility. If you cant recall then say say. Dont guess. The further back in time you go, the less you are expected to remember. Plus, most complaints that rely on unprovable conversations rarely succeed on that point alone anyway. So, you don't need to remember fully.

With an online application you cant be mis-sold. However, if you were in the minority of cases where pre-selection or reverse ticking was required (i.e. tick to not have it) then the FOS generally doesnt like those. However, if you cant remember it is best not to guess. Stick with didnt know you had it.
