Downloadable recording device?

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as an audio recording device that you can download?

My Dictaphone's just packed up and need something in the next hour preferably.

what platform would you be intending to run it on? most smartphones will have some kind of voice memo app.

Platform??

I'm not very technical. I have a recorder on my mobile but it seems quite limited and there's lots in memory already that I want to keep so don't want to mess with it.

Yep, Sooler has got it in 1 (or 2).

You should already have sound recorder on your computer - it's under Accessories.

Audacity is a great tool for recording and manipulating sound files.

Depending on your Windows version, you may have to mess around with the sound config to get anything to record from the Microphone/Line in.

In Windows 7, you right-click the speaker icon in the system tray, and select Audio Devices.

Some MP3/4 players also have voice recorders. You can pick up a cheapie on eBay for less than £10.

Thanks, the one on my accessories looks ok - I've tested it, but how do you find it again once you've recorded?

If you didn't save it, you won't be able to find it.
