credit card for abroad

Up until August I had a credit card with Halifax but it is now closed and paid in full. I'm going on holiday in the next couple of months and was thinking about applying for the Halifax clarity card. Will it count against me that I closed a Halifax card recently?

I recently closed a credit card account after settling the balance and this did not affect my application when I applied for another one. I expect it would depend on the state of your credit file - mine happens to be quite good.

Some companies havea limit .
Amex I believe won't let you open a card for 6 months, but they DO tell you that over the phone when you close one.
Basically whether you get a new card is up to Halifax but if they had a rule they should have told you when you closed the old card.

If you are close to or in London, apply for a Metro Bank debit and credit card.
The credit card is on a par with the best interest rate of the Clarity and their debit card is the best on the market.
You'll be able to walk away with the debit card and dependent on your credit check, perhaps the credit card too.
