I am with Npower can I fix with them

I have heard lots about the Npower fix for 4 winters (especially from MSE-Martin himself).

As I am already a Npower customer, should I fix with them, or should I shop around. Would they even let me fix with them as I am already thier customer ?

Thanks

Yes you can. Just call them and ask them to switch you.

But first enter your usage figures into a comparison website and compare all the tariffs and make the best choice based on your circumstances

Why would they not want to retain an existing customer? You can switch to any available tariff you wish.
But much better to look around for the best deal first. You'll pay a considerable premium to have such a long term fix, as it's essentially an insurance policy. If you're content to pay that, fine.

  • I've been having a look at the Npower 2017 fix and reckon that fuel prices will have to go up by nearly 20% year on year to make it worthwhile - in my case it would cost me over £500 extra based on 15% annual increases so I'm not convinced that its a good deal for me (an excellent one for Npower though).

Just being on it during the next 15 months will cost me £400 extra over the present Scottish Power December 2014 fix, so I'm going to take a chance with the SP fix and take it from there next year.

  • how much do you reckon it will cost you extra come dec 2014 when you look for a new tariff? bear in mind price hikes are coming this winter. plus an extra price hike for a new tariff come dec 2014
