System Image Backup

I have three PCs running Windows 7 Ultimate and two running Windows 8. I regularly use the Windows 7 Backup utility on all of them to make System Images to my 2TB 'My Passport' external USB drives.
Every time I do this, as the image backup completes a window pops up asking me if I want to create a System Repair Disc (SRD). I did create a SRD on a separate CD for each computer the first time I made an image backup, so I now have five CDs, but for all subsequent image backups I've made I've not bothered to create any fresh SRDs.
Am I safe doing this or is each SRD unique to each image backup? I've always assumed that I only need the one SRD for each computer and that it will allow the computer to boot and then I point it to the most recent backup. Is this correct? ... I do hope so as I back up regularly and don't want to end up with a room full of SRDs. :rotfl:

OK, thanks for that closed.
Just curious, in what way do you consider macrium better I wonder? Surely a restore either works or it doesn't ... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
