Problem with Tesco Direct

Yesterday I bought a bike from the Tesco Direct Website. My order was confirmed payment was taken and I was given a delivery date. Three hours later I received an email from Tesco Direct saying that there was a supply shortage from the supplier and my order was cancelled and a refund was being made in the next 5-7 working days. I contacted the supplier and they replied that there was no shortage as Tesco had confirmed but infact Tesco had advertised the product at an incorrect price and it was infact there problem and I should contact them again. I have emailed them to remind them they took payment and therefore a contract was made they gave me an incorrect explanation why my order could not be honoured and gave me a refund without offering any alternative. Where do I stand ? For fact of principle I am fighting this... they offer a product... they take your money and then due their error they cancel your order. As money was exchanged then are they not dutifully bound to honour my order ?
