hey buzby!
thank you - all the letters I send on his behalf at the post office. They are named from him and he ok's the final draft - i wouldn't send them without his consent. He is just incapable of managing his own finances so I do it for him.
I know defaults are bad any way you look at it but we are battling to repair our credit now - although it may take 6 years! So I am assisting him in doing this.
thank you though

Regard them as 2 distinct issues. Delaying settlement of the debt is doing you no favours at all. Don't get hung up on the credit score either. Sometimes only time really makes a difference.0 -

hey thrugelmir!
don't i just know it!! That's why we're trying to sort it all out now! I know we owe them mular but I want them to play fair (haha!!!) so going to settle the double default and then start the payment - i'll aim for that then if they want the money first we'l have to arrange something!
They haven't had anything for various reasons for over a year so I'm all for paying what I owe - just 2 defaults is a little sneaky!!

Wouldn't it be a good idea for him to start to manage his own finances so he learns the lesson of managing it properly, why did he resort to pay day loans anyway these should be used as a very very last resort and even then I don't think I would take one out.
About the default make sure he keeps a paper trail it's slow but the most effective way persistence is the key
Good luck0 -

It may have escaped your attention, but some people are physically/mentally unable to maintain their finances correctly - there are lots of different reasons for this - gambling to name but one.0 -
hi shaunnnny - the PDloans are a long story and one I'd prefer not to get into here - needless to say until we can clear all our debts and get debt-free (which should be in a year at the most) I am happy to manage the money, after which we may come up with a new scenario but both of us are happy with the arrangement, I manage money and he can repair things so we make a good team!
sharpy2010 - you are correct - he has had a gambling problem in the past - he has a very addictive nature hence why it's better for me, at this time, to manage all finances.
Paper-trail is key! we'll make sure we keep one!
Many thanks
