Confused not switched before!
I'm totally confused with the whole switching process. I'm currently with edf was on prepayment but have changed to normal meter on variable in the last two weeks, last year I spent £2090 on the prepayment meter. I only have electric. As the prepayment is more expensive I wonder if the figures from last year are accurate enough with the meter change,if you see what I mean?
I checked all the compare sites and m&s energy comes out better at £1771 on a fix till sept 2014, I looked at edf as a existing customer and was quoted £2043 on a year fix, as a new customer its £1774. Don't understand it at all
I haven't switched anything since I changed my phone years ago and ended up with higher bills, so it put me off switching. Any advice greatly appreciated,Thanks:)

What information are you using in the comparison sites - actual usage in Kw or what you paid last year. Do you have economy 7. Comparison sites aren't ever so accurate if you base it on last years payments, kw is a much more accurate. You have also got to check what you are being offered, some sites make assumptions in the annual cost such as cash-backs, discounts even cancellation charges and in some cases assume that you would be going onto a standard tariff which can sometimes make the savings better than they are. It's worth trying out several comparison site to see what they come up with and remember some energy companies will offer a better deal to a new customer rather than to an existing one unless you haggle - it's a strange way to behaveNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

PPM's cost the same as Standard tariff. A good online discount tariff will save you maybe 4% on that.No free lunch, and no free laptop
