Car insurance job title

I have a friend who works for herself. Currently insured as a market trader. She has little interest in car insurance and chose that job title when she got car insurance from The Market Traders Association who she uses for her public liability insurance. I expect she could get much cheaper insurance as market traders appear unwelcome with many insurers.
She is self employed. Has no permanent employees. Sells her own products on her website and at very large shows countrywide. Products are developed and produced by her and sold both wholesale and to the public.
Is she a company director or managing director?. Is there a better (cheaper to insure) job title which legitimately describes her job?

No, she is not a director if she is self employed, there'd have to be a company for her to be legitimately a director.
I am sure like many people there are many descriptions that will fit her but bar a few jobs then the rating factor on your job description or industry isnt that high. Proprietor I think is on the ABI list and so may be suitable as the owner.
More of a concern given she is doing trade/ county shows, how is she getting her goods to these events? Is she using her vehicle to do so? This will have a bigger effect than her job title.0 -
Goods and stand are transported in her car. I don't think they are covered for loss or damage or need to be.0

But this class of use must be declared to the insurer. She may get away with business class 3 but on the basis she is transporting goods she may need to have commercial motor insurance instead. See http://www.confused.com/car-insurance/articles/what-are-the-car-insurance-classes-of-use0 -
Indeed, it's not about insuring that the goods are covered, it's about ensuring that she is covered to make journeys of that nature. If she only has social domestic and pleasure, or the wrong class of business cover, she may find herself uninsured while driving to shows.0

Thanks for the advice. I'll pass the info on.0
