nPower Dual Fuel Account

Hello

Has anyone else had a problem with nPower and them creating a duel fuel account? Brief details are as follows:

I moved house in Jan2013 and kept nPower as my provider even though the new property was supplied by a different vendor. Oh how I wish I hadn't made that decision.

All the usual thing happened, e.g. taking a last reading at the old property; taking new readings at the new property; passing this information on to both providers so the transition could start. nPower claimed 30 days to set up the dual fuel account.

After 45 days or so I check the online account. Only electricity was available. Called nPower and asked about the gas and after a lengthy conversation I was told it would be another 30 days. (Can you guess where I going with this?)

Period of time passes so I checked again, but still no gas appearing on the account. About 4 months have now passed and I'm only paying for electricity on DD.

Asked nPower if I could submit a gas reading so they could issue me with a bill, but they claimed that even though they supplied me with gas, which they verified, they couldn't issue a bill because I don't have an account......... like that's my fault, yeah!!

The complaints department were no use. Lost of fobbing off and telling me it's in hand, blah, blah, blah, but still not sorted. Getting bored now with me doing all the chasing, yawn.

Nine months one and I've not paid anything for my gas usage since Jan2013, so I'm worried about a bill when they finally pull their fingers out and create the account........... if they ever do.

Where do I stand with this from a gas usage / payment stance if they can't set up the appropriate account? Yes, I've used the gas but I can't pay it due the ineptitude of nPower and this could go on for months and months. As mentioned before, they can't issue a bill because they can't create an account.

nPower claim they'll contact me when it's all resolved, but I'm not hold out any hope of that.

Any help appreciated.

    You are still liable for the gas used, regardless of any mis-billing (or non- billing). You have preaumably set aside the money each month to pay for the eventual bill? In the meantime, enjoy the interest free credit.
    PS: when they do sort the account out, the should give you the same period to pay back the arrears (i.e. about 8 months).
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
