Do banks know if a director opens another limited co?

I am planning on opening a second ltd co, I was just wondering if my current bank Natwest would somehow be aware of this, or alerted to this and if it would cause any probs?

If your current accounts are up to date and no problems they will not care about you setting up as many businesses as you like.
They can very easily find out about any businesses you own should they want to, as can anyone who has your details.
Run them all well and you'll have no problems.0 -
If you were renewing or taking out finance, they would credit check you and it may show up then.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Who is a director of a company is public record and can be obtained from Companies House. When you look at the records for a company it states how many other directorships each director has.
Whilst I've never seen a lookup on the Companies House website to see which companies someone is a director of there are plenty of third party sites that do offer that service. So if your bank wanted to know if you are a director of other companies they can find out.
It wont be a problem for a high street bank like Natwest though.0 -
They won't find out or be told unless they go looking - which they've probably no reason to do0

As has been previously mentioned business specialists at bank branches often use third party sites such as companywatch.net to do some checks . A check on a uk director will quickly show up linked companies formed in the UK.
It will not cause any problems unless you have been a director of a dissolved company in which case further questions will probably be asked of you.0
