Coaxial Cable Advice please

Needing to change my exterior Coaxial Cable, I am unsure if I need a special cable (UV resistant) to run from our aerial on the roof

Would this one be okay?

Yes will do the job fine
  • But for external use I would suggest PF100 or similar with a copper braid & copper foil screen. If (or when) moisture gets into RG59 or other copper/aluminium screened cable it soon corrodes into a bit of a mess......

Something like this will be better suited to digital TV or satellite reception:

As 'kev_min' mentioned, there is a double copper braid/copper foil screen. The foam filled dielectric prevents water storing inside the cable and corroding the conductors over time. The foam also prevents any moisture running through the dielectric and into your aerial socket/connector.

From a (very) previous existence I recollect that RG59 is internal cable and you should use RG12 externally.
