So for at least a week we all knew that Tesco were going to say that profits were down again but why does the price drop quite quickly on the actual day they officially tell the world ? Anyway may be a good time to buy some more ? or not ?0

So I'd stay away.0 -
Diversify and chill
(I have about 2% Tesco, 2% Sainsburys, 2% Morrisons, but wish I had some in Aldi)“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” --Upton Sinclair0 -
I went to two different tescos this WE (dropped my twins off at Uni), One in Leamington Spa on sat, one in Chester on Sunday.
Both were heaving, car parking hard to find. I fail to see how they could have stuffed more shoppers in quite frankly.0 -

By that measure, surely iceland is best
all those three could be good, problem is tesco used to do alot better so it disappoints0 -
Well Tesco are still the Tiger Woods of the Supermarket world . Even if they perform poorly they still are making loads of money . They have guaranteed the dividend again this year at 14p ish per share . I will be staying with them as they are now into China and that is where the real money is , is it not ?0

Communism is where the capitalism is, yes absolutely
Depends how open China is to reform, government and just demographically, geologically even. Im sure Tesco could do great in theory and help lower prices hopefully.
However it was a failure in India I believe because of their nationalist and esoteric practise. Also USA they bellyfloppedWe hold alot and at the moment do not feel that Shares is the way to invest due to Savers coverting their cash into Shares to get higher interest rates . A time will come when interest rates will rise and those "Cash Savers" will withdraw , what happens to the prices is unknown but it won't go up .
What drives shares is not as speculative as this or you're putting too much weight behind guessing fiscal policy when its what Tesco does that counts more and of course it should.
I reckon the main question is can Tesco continue to provide a useful service and make a profit on it.opinions4u wrote: »About 95% compared to HBOS high.. The highs were driven by excess wholesale funding. No sensible bank will repeat that.

Well the markets seemed fairly ok about the Tesco news , panic selling early on and the shares are down 3.3% , end of the day they were down 0.1% . See what tomorrow brings .0
