Most of the Asus utilities are pretty crappy, and the ones that aren't are only really useful if you're into overclocking.
I wouldn't bother unless you specifically know you need it.
Possibly an obvious and stupid question: Do you actually have an Asus motherboard?0 -

Yes I kind of get the idea they are not very good and possibly dangerous. I don't need it it was just on my machine when I got i,t on the desktop so I assumed I should install it, but as I can find little positive about it I guess I won't, Anyway I tried to install it, or a different ASUS thing and it would not install. It is an ASUS machine, the mobo is a CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830_M11AA Rev x.0x I think Bit of a handful can't find anything about it on the web really. Maybe cos it's new. The suite thing would have told me more about it but I can't run it. Don't think I need it, I guess I can go into the BIOS at boot up anyway, however, I don't like doing stuff like that in case it screw the computer up. Maybe I will when I am feeling brave!!!0 -
CM6xxx sounds more like a sound card than a motherboard. Asus boards usually use a different naming template to that.
But yeah, unless you're into hardware tweaking and overclocking, the Asus utilities are basically worthless, and in any case there's better overclocking utilities out there, so they're still worthless.
Only think you'll miss is the ah.. "unique" approach that Taiwanese motherboard makers have to user interface design.0 -

well there are several ASUS models with names like that I think, I also iused a DOS command to get the motherboard ID and it came up with the came thing, but I can;t find a motherboard on the new with that name so maybe it has a different name.0 -
CPU-Z will tell you the model number of your motherboard

Will probably report it as Asustek - it does for my Asus mobo.
Or you could have a look inside the case
