Hi my husband is retiringin September and I want to give him a really special present to thank him for working so hard for our family.
I want to get him an Ipod and docking station.
Advice please. Thats all I know-- what I want to get him.
How do I choose I am not the slightest bit techy. I don't mind pushing the boat out as I would like to get a system with really good quality sound etc. So with this in mind is it possible to save a few pennies as well.
A friend recommended a Bse docking station -- any views
Thanks

The Bose docking station is good but quite expensive at about £200.
I have a Logitech mm50 and I am very impressed with the sound quality for a small portable unit. List price is about £80 but they are available for a lot less if you shop around or buy refurbished or second hand on ebay.
The mm50 has docking options for various iPods but also has the great advantage of having an auxiliary input so you can connect anything via a mini jack at the rear. I don’t have an iPod so I use mine with a portable CD player and a Sony mp3 player.
The Bose and many other options don't have an auxiliary input so you are restricted to iPods only. Even if you buy an iPod now, having that auxiliary input means you are not restricted in the future if you buy a non iPod player.
You won’t go far wrong with the Logitech mm50 in my opinion.
