Just tried Noddle, noticed something worrying

After visiting my local Barclays branch today, I was quite pleased for them to tell me I was pre approved for a loan and a barclaycard, which did make me happy as I have been working hard over the last few years to try and repair my credit rating.

I thought, Id pop on to Noddle, and have a look how my score was looking.

Unfortunatley, it showed as a 1/5.

Not very good.

It didnt seem to make much sense to me, as looking at my account on there, I have:

Barclays, with 6 years worth of green OK's.
Vanquis, with 4 years worth of green OK's.
Capital 1 with 2 years worth of green OK's.
Orange with 6 months worth of green OK's.

No late, defaults, etc.

I have just moved house recently, and am yet to get back on the electoral role, but I didnt think that would make so much of an impact.

Sure, I didnt expect a 4 or a 5, but a 1? Seriously?!

When I started digging deeper, looking at my closed accounts, I saw my issues I obviously had 5ish years ago, although the 5 old accuonts are showing as either settled or satisfied.

Nothing too out of the ordinary there.

Although, this one jumped out a mile at me:

When I ran into (big) financial difficulties towards the end of 08, i ended up borrowing money from a family member, and settling all my outstanding debts, there was a few, and they all accepted a reduced figure, to one extent or another.

I'm struggling to remember ever owing "Prudential" any money, although they do ring a bell, possibly as a debt collection agency for Egg.

Regardless, its pretty clear to see how my balance in December to January reduced dramatically. Which would be the "full and final" settlement figure.

However, since then up until Jan 2012, Ive had a default for every single month.

I've not had a shred of paperwork from them at any point past the final settlement, had I have done, for the sake of £169, I would of paid it.

Now, my credit file, which has otherwise not had a blemish on it since the start of 2009, has 3 full years of defaults!

Can anyone please suggest if there is anything I can do, and how I would go about having this corrected?

Many thanks.

Do you still have the paperwork/written agreement of the full & final settlement figure that was agreed for this debt?

If so and if it shows that they confirmed they would accept x amount in ful & final then that will make it easier to challenge the entry.

I would write to them with a copy of that letter and that you require them to correct your credit file to show that there is no balance outstanding and has not been since Dec 2008.

I've just had a bit of a google and i think your correct, which would make sense as I know in the past I had an egg loan.

Egg now seem to be part of YBS, so the question is, who do I get in touch with regarding this? Prudential or YBS?!
