incapacity benefit /personal pension

hello
my husband recieves £132 a week IB plus £16 a week DLA he is 61 years . Would recieving a personal pension of £18 a week effect his benefits i know it seems a small amount but it would help

    If he is on IB and DLA only and no means tested benefits it would not have any effect on his benefits. Means tested benefits maybe reduced with the extra income.

    The Government changed the rules regarding personal pensions ,when in receipt of ib,a few years ago,up till then the pension you received would not be taxed.

    This will not affect you as you can receive up to £85 per week personal pension,before you have to pay tax,people who were on ib before the changes,sorry can't remmber the date it came in, are not taxed on any of their personal pensions,just thought this may be of interest to others.

    The 50% reduction for Pensions over £85 came in in April 2001.

    Is the personal pension calculated as gross per week or net before the £85 rule comes into force?
