Car missold?

Options
Am due to collect my new car tomorrow from the dealer. Between ordering the car and awaiting to collect I researched my model. There wasn't one in the showroom so had to go on delears knowledge. Long story short, dealer said car had DVD player and repeated this fact in several emails to me where I raised my doubts on this fact after speaking to the manufacturer and hearing from them that it does not have DVD player. I said this to dealer who said they checked themselves and it does NOT have a DVD player. Have I been miss sold this car as the dealer made misleading statements on the cars features to get me to sign the contract?

Getting dealer to add DVD player is not an option as he informed me after speaking to his technical team a DVD player upgrade is not available for my car.

Did you buy the car via a broker?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

It might be a good idea to confirm this with another dealer or with Peugeot themselves.
The dealer or his technical team have already shown that they are not too clued up on what is fitted to the various models, so I would take what they are now saying with a pinch of salt.

It's also possible that he said this to avoid the garage having to pay for the upgrade themselves, and having his sales bonus cut or removed because of his error.

What was the model and spec of the car that you ordered?

It's a 3008 Peugeot Roland Garros edition. Peugeot said themselves it doesn't not plat DVD. I told dealer so he went and tried a DVD in the car and it didn't work. Have I been missold? Effectively making contract void?

My car has one as part of the stereo system. It only plays DVDs when stationary though. Not used it in almost 3 years because I don't tend to spend much time in the car, sitting still with the ignition on!!!

  • yea got to agree with the above, why would you want a dvd player in a car? in the back for the kids possibly, but they are so cheap its not really an issue to add one

My car has a DVD player, it houses the sat nav disk. It won't play movies.

If you are wanting to reject the entire car based on this trivia, I'd suggest you probably overstretched yourself on what you could afford or simply fell for salesman waffle and made a rash decision to purchase.

http://www.peugeotcentral.co.uk/ftopic-10798.html this is a old thread but worth a read sounds as the car comes with rear screens and headphone points but no dvd player people are using iphones, nanos or car dvd players.
