Bad idea

I run Thunderbird portable, on a USB stick, so I can access my emails anywhere. Because I sometimes forget my USB, I keep a spare at work. To keep them updated, I thought I would copy my Thunderbird profile, from one to the other, from the one with the latest emails, to the one which was out of date. Unfortunately, I was distracted and copied the old to the new. This has now overwritten my current emails. Is there a way of getting them back.

Overwritten your emails? You mean you use POP instead of IMAP? That was your first bad idea

See if you can log onto your email providers webmail portal. You never know, the messages might be archived there.0
