Santander/GE store cards

My husband had 3store cards with ge then later moved to Santander. All three had Ppi. He was self employed. They have turned down our claim by saying that even though he was self employed he could still claim for sickness and unemployment as he would have to dissolve the business!! Can they do this? All our other claims have been upheld with Lloyd's, barclaycard, cap one etc.
so what they are saying is if he broke his leg he'd could only claim on the Ppi if he closed down the business??
They have told us the foes can't help. To go to the dla. however they will only help if we have new evidence?? Any advice please

To be claim you are unemployed you need to be unemployed. That means being signed on and cease paying class 2 NI (i.e. no longer trading). That is quite normal and acceptable. It is when the terms get more onerous that it works as a valid complaint reason (i.e. needing you to be bankrupt or defaulting on payments etc). All our other claims have been upheld with Lloyd's, barclaycard, cap one etc.
Not all PPI is the same. Plus, some of those may have auto paid out without investigation. So, you could have just got lucky. What others do has no impact.so what they are saying is if he broke his leg he'd could only claim on the Ppi if he closed down the business??I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Again, I haven't seen a single PPI complaint upheld for store cards sold prior to 2005 for Santander. They weren't regulated prior to this so can be dismissed.
Your next and only step is to complain to the underwriters. Find out who they were, Sanatander should have sent a copy of the agreement, it should be on there, and complain to them.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
