Is this a realistic budget?

So I'm off to Cornwall for 6 days next week with friends and I have earmarked £300 to take with me...is this a realistic amount for a self catering holiday? We've got no plans to actually do anything when we're there, we'll have my dog with us, so will be limited somewhat to what we can do anyway.. I'm not really looking to get souvenirs so it's just to live on?

what are you doing about food?


do you plan to buy food and cook it yourselves? or are you eating out?

£300 sound like a lot of money for one person for a week to me..

more than i spend on a self catering holiday for a family of four...but we tend to cook our meals in the accommodation and have just one meal out as a treat...

It's £50 a day, would seem enough for one person for me, even if dining out every day etc. What about fuel, if driving, that can eat up a chunk of budget

We haven't discussed what we're doing about food. - I assume it will be a mix of going for pub grub and cooking at the house.

The petrol will be split, but doesn't have to come out that budget. I have some extra should I need it. I just don't want to run out of money!
