    Thank you.
    Bang goes that idea then.
How do other people survive then? I am very fortunate to have a very kind OH who accepts a financial sacrifice to keep me happy and a relative-in- law safe.

How do people survive? They claim income support and get looked down upon as dole-mongering benefit scroungers (sorry, bit of a rant there). They save the govt millions each year by working 24/7 and get looked at as scum.

    £84 not £87 sorry, but..
    Work and earnings
You cannot get Carer's Allowance if you earn more than £84.00 a week after money has been taken off to allow for your expenses.

Expenses that are allowed are for things like:

    some National Insurance (NI) contributions
    Income Tax
half of any money you pay towards personal or occupational pension schemes
other expenses you have to pay because they are a necessary part of your job
After allowing for these things, you are allowed up to half the rest of the money you earn to help meet the cost of paying someone else (but not a close relative) to look after a child or children, or the person you look after, while you are at work.

    This week is Carer's Week.

As a Carer I earn in CA (as it is regarded as a taxable income) on an average week, 58 pence an hour.

Thank you to the powers that be that I am still relatively physically able (knackered from lack of sleep like all careres) and I manage to keep the depression and stress levels just about under control.

I know money isn't everything but it becomes a core issue when you must literally plan every penny to give your family a reasonable standard of living. It's very desperate in the early hours of the morning when you lie there wondering what the hell it's all about when we apparently live in such a rich county.
    Integrity is a dying art!:p
