I dont know if there are regional variations but vodka in my local aldi and lidl were over £10 but tesco value vodka was £9.70. I bought a £1 vanilla pod and will leave that to infuse for a week or so takes all the edges off and is utterly gorgeous.

Funnily enough I was asking the same question last week (not on here) and bought a bottle of Aldi's Tamova vodka at £10.19 for 70cl (works out at £14.56 a litre which isn't overly cheap but at least price is consistent). Triple distilled and tastes no worse than Smirnoff to me. Aldi also do a cheaper one for approx £9 but I havent tried it and given the blank looking label I have no intention of doing so!

Morrison's own brand is currently £9.70 per 70cl bottle. Saiinsbury's equivalent (identical, of course) is £10. I think the 30p is to pay for feeling more pretend middle class by shopping at Sainsbury's.

Unless you use them in mixers they are both paint strippery. I'd like to see some definite evidence that Aldi or whoever has it available now for £9 a bottle as, given the government's cut, that would be an impressive price.
  • Does the vodka increase in volume after you've flavoured it? If so where can you get cheap bottles to put it back in? Also where do get the jam jars from?
I'm thinking of making hampers this year just not sure if it will work out that much cheaper to make homemade stuff.

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks

We got bottles from here last time, quite pricey. We also got jam jars from a wholesale site but we think this year you can get tesco's own mustard for like 25p and empty them all and use the jars.

If I see anything cheaper though, I'll let you know
