  • Talk Talk response received to initial web complaint, denying everything, refuting my claim for compensation - 29 Sept

The good news is that the BBC are putting an e-mail address on the website, so you can send complaints direct to head office. So forget Em & Mark and the TT members forum.

You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Having received the letter about a month ago I've now received the BT directory and I'm furious I'm in it. Not because of the phone number but now my address will undoubtedly start to appear in various searchable internet services. Short of paying for me to move house I don't see how TalkTalk can possibly compensate me for the loss of privacy. Scale this up amongst maybe thousands of subscribers and I can't believe how incompetent they have been; I really can't. Offering me a free phone number change is really quite laughable.
