Hi if you aren't living there you needn't pay council tax. Give them a call. X

When I went in last year they said if you aren't in it, you get 50% off, but it's only for so long then you have to start paying. Still that's £550 I've paid for 6 months not living in it.

Really think I'll be better getting a decorator in. My dad keeps saying hell do it.

I ended up going to the bank yesterday and putting an extra £1000 down, so that's brought me to under the £50,000 left on my mortgage :j

I haven't posted in a while. But I'm now at £47, 059 left to pay.

I went and put £1000 on my mortgage.

I also have £2800 in a saved account I could easily put it on my mortgage but it's quite scary I'm in my late 20's and all my family were married by now. I don't want to pay a wedding on loan. I believe the only loan you should have is a mortgage. I still get to find my husband hahaa

The way I've been saving is working every Sunday as I get time and a half
I try spend about £30 a week on food
And I try limit myself to £50 a month on makeup and clothes but usually spend more.

That's great you have paid off so much in such a short amount of time. Did you decide if you want to get a lodger or not? I've recently bought my first flat and a friend has moved into my spare room and it's a nice easy £500/month I get from her.

I've lived in share houses before and not always had the best experience but that was sharing with 6-8 people. However with just the 2 of us it's pretty good and we both have quite active social lives so barely see each other more than once or twice a week.
    Starting Mortgage Balance: £264,800 (8th Aug 2014)
    Current Mortgage Balance: £269,750 (18th April 2016)

Most of my friends have kids / their own house, so it's hard to get someone.

Just thought I'd come on and say I'm half way paid off. I had enough saved in my bank and thought it would be a nice feeling to be half paid.

    Half way:j:j:j:j
  • Wow that's amazing! You might be fully paid off in another couple of years!!! You'll have to pop in and let us know :D
