Wednesday 25th September 2013 - What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. .

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

    Morning Money savers,
Haven't made myself a to-do list this morning, as I'm having a day of clearing random jobs before spending the next couple of days doing a big clean & a major admin/budgeting session. Still a few money-saving aspects to my day though:
*Meals as per meal plans - curried chicken rice using rubber chicken divvied up on Mon, with stir-fry garlicky chard from garden.
*Apple sauce made yesterday labelled & frozen.
*All water boiled in kettle saved in flask for next coffee, as it then boils in next to no time & saves gas.
*NSD today, also tomorrow. New budget starts Fri, so if I don't spend anything, I will have £10 leftover from my September personal 'spends' to put in my little secret tin.
*New winter dressing gown arrived in post. Can't believe how thick & warm it is. A bit more than I would normally spend, but hopefully should get a good few years wear out of it & it will defo help with having less heating on!
*In fact, heating still off. Completely. Going to check my energy records to see when it went on last year & try & go for a bit longer than that this year.
*Experiment with home-made porridge pots. Never made one, defo worth trying as would be good for mr f to take to work on early start days.
    *Catch up with surveys.
*Carry on potting up tender plants to move indoors/to greenhouse before the first frosts so I don't rebuy new next year.
*Carry on knitting Christmas present - front of jumper cast on last night & even managed to do 3 rows before breakfast this morning! Still got sleeves, a pair of socks & 3 bags to do after this, & possibly a scarf too, so got to get those needles clicking.
That's my lot, I need to get out in the garden now. Have a good day everyone. Keep your hand on your pennies!

Roadkill is dead animals on the road, killed by being hit by cars. It is also sometimes used to refer to coins found on the ground which can come home with you to add to your penny jar.
