Do computer shops buy laptops?

I have a laptop i want to sell as i dont use it anymore. Its a sony vaio and is in mint condition only used it a few times buti have another laptop so i was wodering if its worth going to a independent computer shop or somewhere like cash convertors ect.

I checked online and the laptop is worth £500 new

  • You don't actually say which model and specs it has and as for the independent shops etc, they will have to charge 20% on top of what they give you , unless they are not VAT registered, so my best guess if it is mint condition you will get £350 less postage to sell it yourself.

  • £350 still the best guess , it's a second user box. You may get £400 on eBay , but I would wipe it and then factory restore it too

  • Definitely not Cash Converters, they'll give you £100 if you're lucky. Ebay, Gumtree or private ads is your best recourse.
