Then You are responsible for internal, cosmetic upkeep, nothing more. So the mould problem should be sorted by the LL
did you pay to have the roof done and the LL also got heating installed for free?
How long do you have remaining on your tenancy? Cause i can see the LL being able to rent for a higher price, as the property now has central heating and is going to be newly decorated
The LL gave me the money to buy the stuff to kill the mould. LL also paid for the 2 roofs to be repaired. I had the heating installed through the Warm Front Scheme in 2008. LL okayed it and I know its a bonus to how much they can charge for the rent, but I don't care as we now have a mostly warm house! The rent has not gone up, as there was a clause in the contract that said LL couldn't put the rent up for a certain amount of time after the work was done.
I sign a new tenancy every year in June. I have no plans on moving as my business is based in the immediate area, and I have told my LL that. The rent I am paying for this sized house in this area is a good deal. I've seen housing in much worse condition and smaller in size being rented out for more in the same road. As far as I am aware I am the longest 'serving' tenant the LL has had, coming up to 10 years next June. I apparently keep the house the nicest so I dread to think what state some of the houses are in if this is nice!Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
