Dimmer switch on 2 way light switch

Can you replace one 2 way light switch with a dimmer switch or does it have to be both switches that are replaced?

After years of using 3 CFLs in a 3 way ceiling fitting where the only way to "dim" the lights is by unscrewing a bulb or 2, I have decided to replace them with LEDs and a dimmer switch.

Also can you get a 2 gang dimmer switch?

Or would you not recommend LEDs for a lounge?

Provided that the lamps you are fitting can be dimmed, you can replace just one of the switches with a dimmer switch on a 2-way switch setup.

The other (normal) switch will just dim the lights to the setting the dimmer switch is set to.

2-gang and even 3- or 4-gang dimmer switches are available! Just check that the 2-gang dimmer switch you buy is suitable for 2-way switching and LED lamps.
