  • Anyone else have any input? I have not paid any instalments yet and it is on finance. I am thinking of just handing the car back with keys bearing in mind I've only owned it for a week.
  • 1st of all is there actually anything wrong with it?

Is it losing water? Drips under the car maybe from the aircon.

Climate will blow warm/cool depending on the interior temperature.

When my water pump failed (mk3 mondeo) my blowers were blowing cold after a short period. Think it was because coolant was being lost. By water pump it was actually the gasket between the block and the pump but they are usually replaced together.
This and the a/c regas are wear and tear.

As for your timing belt - if you was told it was recently changed and it wasn't then you have a right to a remedy. What they told you verbally is equally valid and only gets complicated if they deny it

The purchase of the finance and the purchase of the car are two completely separate issues..
the dealer has been paid by the finance company for the car, it is for you to pay them back.

I'm struggling with the concept that you have spent enough money in a very good car, enough for it to be on finance yet you appear to have no warranty.

Throw the car back for a repair of the air con at their expense.
Can't see how a cam belt can be proven either way so probably not much you can do.

Seems more life you have had second thoughts anyway and looking for reasons to back out. The time for that was before signing unfortunately.

The problem is that I can't turn the A/C on as the button (ECON) stays lit every time I press it which is preventing the A/C switching on. Having read around, the reason why this is happening is because there is a fault with the unit, and I am not sure if a re-gas would solve it.

I don't want to pay £50 to re-gas it only to find that it is not the pressure but another issue. Besides, having just bought the car advertised as having climate control, I would expect them to resolve this issue which they are not willing to do.

Will this fall under the SOGA as not fit for purpose or not as advertised?

If the econ light is on all the time then either you have no gas or the pressure switch is faulty or the compressor is. If you can get it checked on VAG-COM then you should get it diagnosed...perhaps the dealer you bought it off can arrange this.

If you check I think fuse 6, that it is the pressure switch fuse...there maybe other fuses for the a/c system.

Mine doesn't blow ice cold if its on 18 degrees on auto or if I switch it to LO on auto but if its on LO on the slower speeds then its very cold....I think the a/c system isn't very good in the Audis compared to other cars I have had.
