I hate the turmoil of diy

Electrics and gas sorted, had minor hiccough where the gas man found fault with our boiler, instead of letting us know, slapped sticker on it saying don't use, and !!!!!!ed off! after me hitting the roof with the kitchen company, as to why when id specifically stated any problem ring me straight away , i walk in from work to find a bit of paper condemning the boiler as unsafe, he came back and sorted it, it need a £20 part replacing! what a load of stress for no reason!

Day 2 of the kitchen, i found they had forgot to plug my small freezer back in, so though it werent mega full, still down by approx £80-£100.. i will be having more words with the company..
Today all gone to plan thank god, and the plastering is complete, has to dry for a few days before they fit our new kitchen..:j

Sammy i know all to well your frustrations

Think of it like this dont expect nothing becouse a lot of people wont bother to think about things we do in our own homes

I live 4-5 streets from the house i bought and every day/night i go round to make sure its ok
    iv gone over and
    lights have been left on
    door been left open
    radio been left on
    mess not cleaned up

And these are nice enough guys but end of shift/day they just don't think iv had a word with everyone over the last few weeks haha just dont get stressed or frustrated expect the worst anything else is a bonus

I like your thinking Lucky! i will try it...

Called yesterday to find out next weeks schedule for fitting kitchen, was told lady who sorts this is in between 9-12 today and to call back then.. called this morning, no answer, left message.. left it and just called again, same man i spoke to yesterday said he got message, and that the lady is out, back at 12?? and she will call me then..

Anyway, not to worry , its hubby's birthday today, cant do a lot as no kitchen to cook/decorate with banner etc, so quiet snuggle with dvd tonight and a few treats, we have to get the paint to do the kitchen tomorrow..

Its our 2nd wedding anniversary tomorrow, painting the kitchen will be a romantic way to spend the day:love: LOL

We have painted the kitchen, the company have just dropped off the units etc, just waiting for the kitchen fitter to arrive :)

Pay day yesterday, £1500 of premium bonds bought, and £1200 overpayment to the loan we got for the diy/kitchen, we plan to clear this by April, it was for 7 years, lol:rotfl: I love a challenge :T

I cant wait to get everything back to normal, so i can cook/prepare food, do a menu plan and get back into saving.

Hubby had £300 of vouchers given from work for long service, we have converted these to m&s vouchers, which we plan to use over the next few weeks for meat, fruit etc to save on our outgoings for food shop, the money saved will cover extra expenses , skip, kennels etc while kitchen being fitted :)

Well, the kitchen is complete, and looks fantastic:j

Cooked our first meal in it last night, some lovely M&S goodies bought with vouchers, fridge and freezer full, and enough vouchers left still to cover meals till the end on the month at least! so only tiny top up shop needed each week for the rest of the month:T

we are having the new blind fitted tuesday, and new vinyl flooring in the kitchen, and new stairs and living room carpet fitted Friday, so hubby getting all painting finished in these areas this week:)

Its all coming together, lets hope someone loves it when it goes on the market early 2016 :rotfl:

All costs are covered, so i can get back stuck in to saving and getting the diy loan cleared!! We have had a busy, hectic, but productive week off work, back monday:(

Have a lovely weekend everyone, we have just about got the house straight, and we are going to have shower, early night with dvd , we are both shattered :)

    Back to work yesterday :(

Bloomin blind people called to say man had called in sick, so rescheduled to fit blind tommorow, i was grumpy with lady on phone, i was looking forward to my new blind!:(

Ive just done early budget for payday, and we will be able to make another at least £1250 payment off loan, and £1500 to p.bonds! :) no winnings this month from them, so fingers crossed for November draw :):)

Worked out meal plan/budget for the rest of the month, i keep on top of this to save as much as possible, the small savings really do add up!:)
