Tesco Products at Local Shop

I don't know if this is legal or not? My local shop has begun selling some products that carry Tesco branding (tomato ketchup, cola and chicken to name a few things)? All of these are sold at a much higher price than they are available for in Tesco? A bottle of Tesco cola is £1.50 at the local shop!
This is the first time I have noticed something like this, the shop is definitely not owned by Tesco. Surely this is illegal? Should I make Tesco aware and could I be in trouble for not having reported it sooner?

I very much doubt that you would be in any trouble!
You could just write an e-mail to the head office - or, if you're worried, an anonymous letter - and inform them what's going on.Weight Loss3lb Lost32lb To Go:xmassmile 8 Week Christmas Cracker SW Challenge :xmassmile3lb/12lb0 -
What kind of local shop is it? As it might actually belong to Tesco.
But either way they are not doing anything illegal. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
If a local shop chooses to buy stock from Tesco to re-sell rather than go to a wholesaler that is their choice. This is not illegal and you would be wasting your time. How you feel about this pricing is not relevant.John0

there is a little post office i go in and it does the same, they don't sell many items but it helps the oaps who would have to travel 10 mile to the town shops, they are helping the residents out, if they bought in bulk from the cash and cary it would probably go out of date before it all sold0

It may well belong to Tesco. There is a local shop a few streets away from a Tesco Extra near me that has retained the "local shop" look. It sells Tesco products much like you mentioned for a higher price. When the worker was asked about it they said that the shop was owned by Tesco as are all of the small "independent" local shops near to that Tesco.
It's a way of clearing competition I guess.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0 -
i discovered recently that the garden centre near me is owned by Tesco. They don't advertise they own it but they do. They seem to be owning more and more business's but keeping their link quiet!0

Nothing wrong with it and nothing wrong with the prices being charged, the customers can choose whether to buy the cola @ £1.50 or not bother.i discovered recently that the garden centre near me is owned by Tesco. Aren't there some regulations concerning manufacturer's details? Don't some foodstuffs need to carry the name and address of either the manufacturer, retailer or importer. I remember being told it was why multiple retailers put their own address on products.0

Yep the details do have to be on the packaging, which I'm sure it is if it is/has been sold by Tesco. If you look at the packaging for multipacks the details are usually on the outer packaging so that they can not be split down and sold legally individually as they would not have all the required details. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
If it's a one stop then they are owned by Tesco's. I have seen supermarket own brand goods in Jack Fultons I assume it was nearing it's sell buy date,Come on you Irons0
