I'd just like to say how nice it has been to see you arrive here seeking advice, and then joining the regulars in assisting other posters with similar problems, as you've gained knowledge of the process. It hasn't gone unnoticed!
No problems! I think that this shows that it is possible, to come from an uneducated position (of ignore) to a position of knowledge by:
a) reading a lot of the other threads..
b) providing the right information and asking the right questions..
..and most importantly
c) being pro-active, researching on the web and not expecting others to do your work for you..
so all of the things that a lot of newbs don't! It can be done!!
On top of that, I think that's it's morally and ethically wrong that these companies engage in this practice. I'll do my best to stop around and help others, even with my limited knowledge - though I must say that it would be nice if there was one central place (sticky / webpage, with options and examples) that you could post EVERY newb to that explains all they'll need to know. This is my *anonymous* account on MSE Forums - I post under a different username normally.0 -
Just a final update. The DVLA have responded by letter to my complaint. Effectively, they used the BPA evidence (which has been shown above to be incorrect and flawed) to bring their decision that there was no case to answer against ParkingEye and their use of DVLA data.
Disappointing but not surprised in the slightest (those £2.50s all add up eh?)This is my *anonymous* account on MSE Forums - I post under a different username normally.0
