TSB !! finally got accounts

a week ago - registered on line "wait 7 days for post" - letter to say "technical probs, go to branch.
Went to Branch, listened to all the speel. "we don't approve of 3 new accounts,, we know why you want them !! (so what).
Girl checked with Manager who refused to open ANY account as "you already have 3 with Lloyds - I have an email saying it is not allowed" (they CAN stilll see Lloyds acconts on TSB screens).
Tried by phone - 1.5 hrs and system finally accepted me,, but not at a loal branch - "problems with sort code input".
Tried by phone for another the next day and the system would not electronically ID me + he deleted the previous app.
Today - made a nuisance of myself and finally got 3 accounts at local branch (still lots of Q's), + a cup of tea.

THAT S*DDING BANK !!

    My experience was less traumatic - it must be the luck of the draw with branches. I had applied for the first account online - waited a week for a reply and got allocated to a branch in another town (and they left the Enhance off). Also got a new internet banking account number as this was my first TSB account. (Now have 4 as also have ones for Lloyds, Halifax and BoS).

    So, went into my local TSB branch last Friday - showed my passport and gave him the debit card from the first account. He went into the system with the account details from the card and opened 3 new accounts with Enhance and then closed the first account, so I have all my accounts allocated to a local branch.

    He didn't query why I wanted the accounts or ask me how many other LBG accounts I had (7) - he just opened them one after the other by copying the details over from the first account and then closed the foreign town account down. I didn't get any hassle and could see the screen clearly throughout and it didn't show my Lloyds accounts. When I went home, the 3 new accounts showed up on the new internet banking account and 3 new debit cards arrived this morning (Tues).

    I would definitely advise opening the accounts in the branch, if you have one reasonably near.

    There's one within 3 miles of me, but in a town I very rarely visit, so don't particularly want to go just to open an account.

    So I tried to do it over the phone. Already have a savings account with them (£0 balance) so already have internet banking details. They insist you must have a current account to have a internet banking login. I tell them no, I just have a savings account. They tell me thats not possible. I tell them I'm looking at the screen. Then they say I'll have to open an additional account if I already have access. Fine I say. A few minutes later and they say "Oh, you don't have a current account with us". God damnit, that's what I've been saying!

    Now they are saying they'll have to open another "primary" account which means new internet banking id and I can't use the existing one and thats "Not valid for a current account", and as such I need to visit a branch with id. BUT you already have my detai... Agh, I give up.
