Debt making me very very depressed

It's amazing how talented a person can become at recognising phone numbers and letters before even answering or opening! It's an art I can say I've learnt in the past five years
Good Luck Debtfree12000it really does get easier with time.

You have to start from the position that nothing they say is true.
To my previous list you can add:3.13 Examples of unfair or improper practices are:
a. not making clear the purpose and intended outcome of any proposed visit
For example, it is not sufficient to inform the debtor that collectors or field agents will visit him and not tell him the intended purpose of the visit.
You really ought to put in a written complaint0 -
Oh my god! I cannot believe it!! just logged onto my online hbos account and it states 'your account is currently subject to a regular repayment plan please contact us if you need to on ....' ... does this mean that they actually have accepted the DMP? If so I am gonna cry with happiness ... sorry for the hysteria its just been so stressful lately. xx0

Even if court action were started you most likely would not have to attend, you just fill in a form(defence) and return to the court, I believe its only secured debt that requires a court appearance in person, although not 100% sure on that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi DF1200
I think HBOS seem to be saying they are rejecting DMP to everyone. Sounds like the DMP is working OK.
I suggest this to everyone so apologies if you've seen it before but if I have a wobble I re-read the advice about baliffs and stuff on the Stepchange or Debtline websites. It makes you realise they are not a bad person, & you don't have to let DCA's in unless they are from the court.
I also stopped answering my phone from Jan this year. I have it set so unrecognised numbers don't sound and I put some of the regular numbers in so I can see which ones tried to call me. I haven't had a call now in several months (6/7 months into DMP).
It is scary, but the worse should be over and if you can keep up your DMP then things should start to improve. Good luckDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
