Installing disc image onto new HDD

Hi all
My OHs desktop has finally bitten the bullet and died (it's at least 6 years old and was running Windows XP 32 bit).
It won't boot at all using any of the options.
I made a backup onto a spare HDD using Macrium (the free version) but didn't get a chance to burn the boot disc to a disc (if that makes sense).
I have a disc I made for myself but it's Windows 7 64-bit.
Can I use the boot disc I made for mine to put the image I made of her machine on to some new hardware?

if it's a macrium disc, yes
if not, you can install macrium on any machine, and create the disc!!

Thanks for that.
Yeah, everything is backed-up using Macrium.
I'm just hoping it's a boot problem and not a trashed HDD (although I do have some spares lying around).:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
