My credit card fun

Has anyone had any of the following happen to them?

* applied for a PPI reclaim on a old card which the account isn't active
* Claim approved and funds sent to me in a cheque
* the claim was processed by paying the money onto my account and then taking it out.
* I was charged interest for having the payments in my account and then paid out.
* This transaction marked my account as live and then doubled the interest rate.
* My first complaint wasn't investigated correctly and a standard letter was produced.
* My follow up letter wasn't responded to as they thought is was the same letter.
* My August statement wasn't produced and no payment was collected.
* My September statement said I was in arrears but no late payment fee was charged (however minimum payment is 3 times higher than normal).
* Late payment markers have been put on my credit file.
* After 3 months someone is now taking my complaint seriously.

Nobody is sure what's happening with my account and why it's so broken.

The late payment markers are a right kicker as I was going to apply for a BT card soon, but lucky for me one provider has offered 14 months BT offer as a retention so that, that sorted.

I've no idea how things have got so broken.

  • Do you mean that you paid a cheque into your credit card account, and then withdrew iit as cash?

If so, then it's normal that it would count as activating your account, and raise fees.

If you mean that you paid it into a normal bank current account then something does indeed seem to have gone wrong.

No they transferred a PPI refund into my account then back out to produce a cheque for me. I paid that into my current account.

I haven't touched the card account in years apart from making payments.

To be honest I want to pay the card off but I can't at the moment because I don't trust the figures they are giving me and I don't think they know what I owe.
