balance transfer fee refund with barclaycard?

Options
I took out a barclaycard recently with a great offer of 0% for 27 months. The transfer fee was 3.9%, but will be reduced to 2.69% by way of refund within a few days of sucessful transfer. Its been around 10 days now and it hasn't been credited back to the account. I tried calling them, but other than confirming the above offer, the foreign guy didn't really understand what I was asking for.
has anyone else had this offer? if so, how long did it take for the difference to be refunded?

thanks in advance

Anyone with a barclaycard who can shed light on this?

    Thanks x
  • I've got this offer - or a similar one, at least. The transfer fee is 4% and I get a quarter of that back as a refund.

Just done it once and the refund was processed 8 days after the transfer was charged. Not sure how weekends affect that, though, so ten days might be acceptable.

Thanks. Managed to speak with someone who spoke good English today and they said it can take up to 28 days, although the web says 2-3, lol.
It's put my mind at rest though now, so thank you xxx
  • If it doesn't appear (as it didn't for my OH), don't bother calling - send a secure message (complaint) online - someone who can understand you will call you back.

They denied all knowledge of OHs offer, but after about ten seconds of arguing credited her account with a "goodwill gesture" of an equivalent amount.

I have no problem with Barclaycard, but their call centres are dire.

I know what you mean :-(
It's always someone abroad you end up speaking with. He checked my cards offer and confirmed it, so I'm just waiting the 28 days before getting in touch again. Xx

Barclaycard can be a nightmare CS-wise until you get through to some in England. but i wouldn't worry, despite front line staff having no knowledge or understanding. the deal will come through. and if it doesn't you will raise a complaint, get the credit, and a further credit for your time & messing about.;)
