The beginning of this year isn't very long ago, so you don't seem to have much good credit history record from even the older cards. If you cancel them now I don't think it'll look particularly good, too much like mind-changing. Given the low limits perhaps keep them or at least one of them for a couple of years. By then you'll have a fair bit of history on the better cards as well.
Probably good to try to get at least one card to a six year plus history so you'll have at least some record of keeping a card for a long time.
People getting your credit report can't see what type of cards the older ones are so no need to worry about that aspect.
at that rate, if the BT deal is definately still intact, and bearing in mind that you want to build your rating, i would borrow more from them....as you can save that and make more in interest that the fee will be

Definitely not affected my BT offer. I checked over phone too. The first statement was split into two. One for the BT and one for the purchase ( was 6 months 0% on purchases too). It lists the interest offers separately for both).
I was worried it looked like I had too many cards and too much credit. The capital one is my oldest with a low limit, so I could get rid of the vanquis?
